The Blackhawk Squadron is a team of ace pilots that were gathered together from all over the world to defend earth against evil. The leader of the team is Bart Hawk.

- Bart Hawk - aka Blackhawk (or Mr. Cunningham) – The head of one of the largest aircraft manufacturing companies in the world, and a man who commands "a working knowledge of science with specialties in aviation and aerodynamics."
- Chuck Wilson – The American communications expert and team scientist.
- Stanislaus – The Polish "financial wizard" of Cunningham Aircraft.
- André – The French mechanics expert.
- Olaf – The Swedish junior member of the group.
- Hendrickson – The Dutch elder of the group and the full-time "sentinel" of the team's secret base, Blackhawk Island.
- Chopper (formerly known as Chop-Chop) – The Chinese master of martial arts and the team's most skilled flier, "save for Blackhawk himself."
Blackhawk Headquarters[]

The Blackhawk Squadron is headquartered at Blackhawk Island. It is situated somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. The island is not listed on any navigational charts, nor is its location known to any government. Blackhawk Island housed the members of the Blackhawk Squadron, their planes, maintenance equipment, storage facilities, and more.[2] Toward the end of World War II, when the Blackhawks shifted their campaign to the Pacific Ocean to fight the Japanese, a new Blackhawk Island was located somewhere near Japan. At the same time, it was apparently close to the continental United States, since it was a short flight from their "mainland barracks", which seemed to be on the west coast of the U.S., and they could respond quickly to emergency calls which mostly came from the U.S.

- Mentioned in Super Friends (comic book), Issue #3 (February 1, 1977).
- Although they were meant to appear in Filmation's The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, the series was canceled and the project never proceeded much beyond pre-production stages.
- At least one animation cel was made that featured the Blackhawks helping Aquaman fight off alien invaders from outer space.
