G.E.E.C. is an acronym meaning:

  • G oodfellow's
  • E ffort
  • E liminating
  • C omputer


The G.E.E.C. computer was created by Professor Goodfellow and completed in the 1970s. It is located underground and stands 200ft. wide and 200ft. high. It has an automated repair function that replaces parts before they break down. The professor believes that the G.E.E.C. could perform every job that is performed by men and women, eventually freeing mankind of physical labor and responsibility. Students could learn at home and actors would be computer generated. It cannot be turned off locally. The on / off switch was located in the G.E.E.C. satellite.

  • It is interesting to note that the G.E.E.C. computer used vacuum tubes even though in our world the last major vacuum tube computers were in the early 1960s being replaced by transistor and later microprocessors by the 1970s.
