Killer whales are a type of whale. They are known for being toothed whales, one of the few species of whales that actually have teeth. They commonly prey on sea lions, but they rarely attack humans, just as with most other species of whales.

Despite their name, they are actually peaceful creatures, ^[3]not killers, and they are actually not whales, but they are part of the cetacean family known as dolphins.
