History[]
Earth 1956[]
According to myth, he was one of the Roman gods, an avatar of the Greek god known as Hermes. He was said to be the son of Jove. This is the most common myth regarding the origin of Mercury.
According to history as recorded by Sentinel One, Mercury was originally an ordinary human who lived on Earth, but was granted amazing powers by the cosmic computer Sentinel One, and he was brought to his domain. There, he was granted the ability to run at super human speeds, and he was given eternal youth, and sent back to Earth to defend it against evil as a member of the Space Sentinels. His adventures became legendary and resulted in the telling of myths the world over. He even served with the Space Sentinels at least as late as 1985.
He had an entire planet named after him, and he was also one of the six Immortal Elders that imparted Billy Batson as well as Shazam's other agents his super speed powers.
Physical Appearance[]
As a man, he had black hair and brown eyes. He appeared as a young man with Asian descent. In this form, he didn't seem to be as powerful as his Greek counterpart.
However, as a spirit in the Rock of Eternity, he seemed to be much more capable as one of the Immortal Elders. In fact his super speed was one of the abilities that was gifted to the Marvel Family. In this form, he had blonde hair and blue eyes, just like his Greek doppelgänger.
