Orion is the son of the dreaded Darkseid. He was raised on New Genesis by Highfather as part of a treaty between the warring planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. Highfather exchanged his son for Darkseid's son, as a show of good faith.[1]

With the loving care of the Highfather's family and the influence of faithful friends as he grew up, Orion became a good man, if still struggling with a brutal inner rage, who fights the forces of evil as one of the greatest champions of the planet New Genesis.

Powers and Abilities[]

Super Powers[]

Abilities[]

Weaknesses[]

  • Radion: Radion is some type of chemical substance that the New Gods are vulnerable to.
  • Berserker Rage: As the son of Darkseid, Orion inherited all the rage and hate Darkseid has for others. However, he also lacks Darkseid's natural control over it, which can lead to violent, irrational assaults on anyone and anything in his vicinity if not subdued. Orion's Mother Box is capable of calming him, but if tasked with other functions, Orion can slowly start to lose control.

Equipment[]

Appearances[]

Orion never appeared in the Super Friends series. Nevertheless, an action figure of him was made for the action figure line, despite the fact that he never appeared in the show. An alternate version of him appeared in the final volume of the Super Powers comic series.[2]

Notes[]

Orion first appeared in New Gods # 1 (March 1971)[3]

References[]

  1. This is based upon the comics. It hasn't been actually stated as Orion has never appeared in the series.
  2. The third volume of Super Powers take place in a different continuity than the other Super Powers stories, which take place on Earth-1A. Because of this, Orion has technically never "officially" appeared, unless you count his action figure.
