Story One: ElementaryEdit

The SuperFriends face the Elementals, the spirits of the Earth who have taken possession of four people. They are led by an unseen Overlord, who convinces them that the SuperFriends are actually villains and must be stopped. Aquaman faces an Undine, Superman faces a gnome, Batman faces a Salamander and Wonder Woman faces a sylph. With the aid of the Wonder Twins, the SuperFriends manage to convince the spirit Elementals that they have been led astray. The spirits, though still housed within their host bodies, agree to cease to cause any more problems.

Story Two: The Origin of the Wonder TwinsEdit

The SuperFriends and their new allies the Elementals, relax in the Hall of Justice and listen to the Wonder Twins as they reveal the secrets of their origin. It would appear that Zan and Jayna were born mutants on the planet Exxor. Each of them gifted with a specified aspect of shape shifting. While still infants, a great plague swept across Exxor killing hundreds, including their parents. The twins were raised in an interplanetary circus until such time that they came of age. While their they cared for Gleek. Soon they became frustrated with the enslaved life of a carnival performer, so they fled from Exxor and traveled to Earth where they eventually aided the Super Friends in battling the forces of Grax.

• The Wonder Twins both appear in the flashback sequence. This flashback precedes their appearance in issue #7.

• The Overlord is revealed to be Sandor Fane.
• In an attempt by writer E. Nelson Bridwell to established continuity with the Earth-One universe,^[1] he places the events of this story after the events chronicled in Detective Comics #478.^[2] Since that time, it has been concluded that the SuperFriends universe is a separate universe called Earth-1A. What this means to our continuity, is that the Earth-1A universe shares a common history with the Earth-One universe.
