The Man of Steel
Sent to earth from Krypton as an infant by his parents Jor-El and Lara, Kal-El was found and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Renamed Clark Kent, the boy grew up with good old midwestern values. Upon discovering his powers that were gained by absorbing the radiation from a yellow sun, Clark became Superman, defender of justice. Clark works in his real identity as a mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet.
The Superman from this line featured a "Power Action Punch." This "Power Action Punch" worked when his legs were squeezed together. The cape is actually made of cloth, unlike most Superman figures which are made of a softer form of plastic.
Clark Kent is dressed in a blue suit and has his trademark glasses (See special mail-in Clark Kent).
Of course, Kenner had no choice in releasing the flagship character in DC's stable. Excellently sculpted, this figure since has turned up in Toy Biz's DC Superheroes line.
