The history of Wayne Enterprises is longer than the history of Gotham City.
Wayne Enterprises was founded in the 17th century and thus is one of the oldest companies in the world.
It was initially known as Wayne Corp and was founded as a merchant house, eventually evolving into a large multinational conglomerate company.
Today, it is privately owned by Bruce Wayne, although he participates very little in the projects of his various enterprises, leaving the work to his trusted employees, particularly the CEO Lucius Fox.
Its current headquarters is located in Gotham.
