Zatara is a descendant of the Homo Magi. He resided in San Francisco, California. He is the father of Zatanna, a member of the Justice League of America. He was a famous stage magician and he had many magical powers of his own, some of which he had taught his daughter. He and Sargon both met their demise when they united with several other magic using characters, including his own daughter, to battle the evil force known as the Great Darkness.
